“Now to Him who is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21
Leading up to our first Annual Founders Campaign Banquet, we prayed relentlessly for a night that would glorify God and prove financially profitable for our growing seminary. To say we were blown away with the outcome would be an understatement. God truly provided “far more abundantly” beyond all that we could ask or think.
On April 30, 2013, approximately 200 people gathered for the kick-off of this 2.6 million dollar campaign. At the end of the night, almost $200,000 in pledges and gifts were given to go along with $260,000 in pledges and gifts given before April 30. The food and fellowship was enjoyed by all, new friendships were made, and guests had the opportunity to hear from and socialize with current STS students. Stephen Davey, President of Shepherds Theological Seminary, shared his heart and vision for STS with guests.
Chris Brady, New York Times bestselling author, also explained to guests why he has personally partnered with the seminary.
We still have a long way to go in reaching our three year campaign total, but thanks to the partnership of many we are on our way. We are excited to see how God is going to provide, through our Shepherds family, the success of a finished campaign in the year 2015. The world needs trained servant leaders to stem the tide of cultural disaster, religious confusion and future hopelessness more than ever. We continue to be blessed to see our graduates build churches and meet the needs of the harvest field with the Word of God.
